Working on an mosaic icon.

About Me

My name is Aneta and I am passionate about making mosaics. I first became exposed to the beautiful art of mosaics in 2001, when I was part of a community therapeutic group called: Network Arts. During this period, I was suffering with post-natal depression following the birth of my second child in the UK. As a part of the group,

I learned the fundamentals of the mosaic craft which brought me a new perspective and a renewed sense of hope. As a full-time mother working in the childcare sector to support my family, it had been many years since I was able to fully explore my passion of crafting mosaics. Like many people, the COVID-19 pandemic caused me to reconnect with my true passion – mosaics. As my beautiful daughter flew our family nest , I was able to utilise the additional free space to craft bespoke mosaic art inspired by love.

I am continuously developing and honing my skills by attending courses, and volunteering at the London School of Mosaic. I am currently involved in two projects within the school: the London Bridge Project; and the St. Paul’s Cathedral gift shop project. Mosaic-making is a deeply fulfilling experience during which I have been taught patience, faith and perseverance as well as a way of maintaining my physical and mental wellbeing, which I hope to one day have the opportunity to share with people of similar experiences.

Mosaics are a fascinating way of putting seemingly unrelated pieces of glass, ceramics or marble into a coherent, beautiful and timeless expression of our inner self. Seeing in my mind the completed piece of art and trying to put every piece of glass into its rightfull place is like solving a riddle, like making a puzzle and putting it all together.
